Maple Work Bench

This is the bench where I do most of my hand work.   The center of the top is constructed out of an old maple gym floor that my brother and I salvaged from a school near his house and re-purposed into tops.  The surround, the vises and the base are constructed out of hard maple, and all of the joinery is oversized and hand cut. To finish assembling this top, I had to build an elaborate pulley system in my shop to lift and turn this heavy piece.
